I have captured a movie from mini DV, onto my PC.

This is only an hour long but takes up 7 megabytes, how do I reduce size of this file, as due to the size if I try to convert it, the programmes crash, obviously due to the size.

Use VirtualDub, with a DivX or XviD codec to compress your .AVI...
