    Burning at 8 x

I have an LG 4081B 8 x Burner and today I purchased 1 8xDVD-+R disc to see just how much faster the burning process would be.

I used DVD Shrink to backup the dvd and then inserted the 8 x dvd disc. The dvd still only burnt at 4 x speed - how come? Any ideas?

Go to the burner manufacturer's website and look for a firmware update...

      8 x Burn

I have already updated the firmware for this burner. I was wanting to know if DVD Shrink has any inbuilt burn speed restrictions.

          8 x Burn

After checking my burners specs, it was discovered that the burn speed is restricted to 4 x for -R discs and only burns at 8 x for +R discs.

I will have to wait until I obtain some +R 8 x media.

Ok what I meant to say was that I had purchased 1 8 X DVD-R disc. What I want to do is get hold of a 8 x DVD+R disc to confirm that my burner will operate at 8 X

Now, I think I have got that right....
