    help with audio

i have a mustek dv 3000 and it produces avi's with a mjpeg codec and the audio is 32kb/s mono 8000khz dvi_adpcm (0x0011) Intel Corporation - info according to gspot
after editing with ulead vs 7 i cant get the audio to sound the same. it sounds tinnier. and if i try to convert to a wmv the sound is atrocious. i have a website and have loads of these vid clips online and would ideally like to find a soulution so that i can produce decent sounding wmv's
i accept the audio is poor to start with so i dont want any more degredation
    cheers

Load the .AVI into VirtualDub and convert the audio to 2 channel (stereo) .MP3...

(Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy" and "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode")

      thanks for reply setarip
right on my own i managed to convert my vidclips to divx4 with a dramatic reduction of filesize yet with the same vid quality and the sound was as good as the master.
i tried divx 5 codec but no matter what i did filesize was always exactly the same size regardless of changes to settings. so im obviously doing something wrong. any pointers?
      re your suggestion
i've converted to stereo but i cant see what im gaining as they play through windows media player fine as mono but windows movie maker adds noise to the audio making it unlistenable mono or converted to stereo
what is wmm doing to produce crap sounds? ulead vs7 has loads of different save configs but no matter what you select i cant get audio to be listenable. is this possible or am i missing something?
      cheers
