    [split] no sound with xvid

When trying to play certain xvid's, I get no sound at all. I am successful at splitting the audio from the video. Then when I try to play the audio in a wave editor, I get the message that there is no codec on my system for decoding the audio. I have D/L'ed all of the xvid codecs that I can find but none has been successful at getting the audio to work. Does anyone know of any special or altered xvid codecs that are needed to work with windows XP for home and media player nine series, both of which are updated every month to insure that they are up to date.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

    To xvidhelp

    A) You should have posted your question as a NEW thread

    B) XviD codecs are VIDEO codecs - and have NOTHING to do with audio playback

    C) 1) Load the original video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

    2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

    3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box
