What's the extension of the subtitle file? I'm not too experienced with subtitle files, but you could try using various players that support different types of subtitles. I know of Sasami, MicroDVD and PowerDivX. The Windows Media Player can do it too through the Caption option.

Try using MicroDVD to play the avi with subtitles. Make sure you set the subtitle color to a bright color or something that is opposite the background. Your subtitles may need converting.

Try a different subtitle! Maybe you downloaded a bum subtitle!? I don't know, i don't really use them too much. They just get in the way for me.

Thank you very much for reply............

I have used several sub. files from different internet page's
and not one off them is working.
I have (just to be sure) converted the movie to avi. with virtualdub but that wasn't it.
I am really getting a little bit sick of it but can't leaf it i want to make it work if you know what i mean
I hope somebody have something for me if ya don't thanks for the reply's anyway,
