    Acceptable Compression

I just installed my first DVD burner yesterday (Plextor PX-712A), and backed up my copy of Me, Myself & Irene with DVD Shrink.

I was surprised that using deep analysis, I was able to get what seemed to me as acceptable quality at about 51% compression.

Could the more experienced DVD Shrink users here give me an estimate on what they think the cutoff point is as far as compression percentage and still getting acceptable quality?

    Thanks in advance,

It's down to personal preference at the end of the day and what size/quality screen you are going to watch your backup on.
The quality of the original is also important.

Have a search through the DVD Shrink sub forum here to see what others think: http://forum.digital-digest.com/foru...?s=&forumid=47

Thanks for the help. I figured that the answer was a matter of personal preference. The members brought up a good point. I don't know what I'll be viewing the movies on in a few years. I think that I'll just archive the movies, as that was why I bought the dvd to begin with, not for the deleted scenes, stills, etc.

      Thanks again,
