    Only sound, no video

    Hi,

New to dvd burning. Used Shrink to copy DVD on to HDD, then used Roxio to burn. Will not play back, sound is there but no picture. What could I be doing wrong? Also tried to use DVDDecrypter, same result after burn. Please help.

    Thanks!

"Will not play back, sound is there but no picture."

Can you play the backup DVD with a "Software" player such as "WinDVD" or "PowerDVD", and is both video and audio present?

      1) Is this the way it plays back on a standalone DVD player or only on your PC?

      2) Does the original, commercial DVD play properly on your PC? ON your standalone DVD player?

No video, just sound with WinDVD on PC.

Regular DVD players shows "disk error".

Original DVD plays fine on both DVD player and PC.

        Thanks

Probably a question of poor quality media. Try using higher quality media, such as Ritek

To determine the capabilities/limitations of your specific brand and model of standalone DVD player, as well as media compatibility, go to:

I am also facing the similar problem. Good sound but no picture.
I have copied 21 chapters from DVD. There is no picture visible in any DVD playing software PowerDVD or Windows media player etc.

But when I skip chapters few still pictures shows up.

Does not look like media or writer problem as I have checked compatibility.

I carefully followed all step mentioend in DVD Shrink first, then by
Sonic Record-now I opened a data project and burned Video_TS and Audio_TS folder to DVD. It completed successfully.

              Any suggestion/pointers ?

If you open up the burned DVD with DVDShrink - can you see anything in the preview window?

"burned Video_TS and Audio_TS folder to DVD"

It is absolutely imperative that the folder names be in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS ("VIDEO_TS" and "AUDIO_TS")...
