    Joining Mpeg2 In Tmpgenc Plus???

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MPEG2
"PROGRAM" AND "SVCD" SELECTION UNDER MPEG TOOLS FOR JOINING ENCODED FILES? I HAVEW TRIED BOTH METHODS AND THEY BOTH GO THROUGH TMPEGNC DVD AUTHOR 1.6 FINE, AND APPEAR TO PLAYBACK THE SAME TOO. SO WHAT COULD BE THE DIFFERENCE?

ALSO, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE/BENEFIT BY ENCODING WITH 1,
or, 2 "ELEMENTARY STREAMS" I HAVE BEEN USING JUST ONE NOW.

    DOES ANYONE POSSESS THE KNOWLEGE?
    MOOCHAS GRACIAS.

First of all, please turn off your CAPS LOCK key.

If you intend to burn an SVCD, you MUST use the "SVCD" selection. If you don't select "SVCD" format, your disc will NOT playback on your standalone player - if you can even get your burning software to recognize it as a proper file to be used in creating an SVCD disc...

"WHAT IS THE PROPER SELECTION TO PUT THROUGH DVD AUTHOR"

MPEG-2 Program (VBR) - But it's best to use the DVD template/"wizard" to get all settings correct (which will include MPEG-2 Program (VBR)...

            CONFUSED

ok setarip. i'm confused now. i'm burning these files to dvd.
i have tmpgenc plus and i encode 2 files (dvd settings).

now i have to join them with mpeg tools before i author them.
so, in mpeg tools, i choose "mpeg-2 svcd(VBR)", or "mpeg-2 program(VBR)". i want the discs for standalone dvd player use.

            ty kindly

ok i gotcha now setarip ty. one last thing, what would the other option be used for?("mpeg-2 svcd(VBR)"). also would this setting be known to also work in a standalone dvd player? (in case i make a mistake or something, just tryin to learn more about tmpgenc plus).ty

As I have already clearly stated in my initial response here, if you intend to burn an SVCD, you MUST use the "SVCD" selection.

"would this setting be known to also work in a standalone dvd player?"

Yes - If you successfully burn a CD (NOT a DVD) as an SVCD AND your standalone player is capable of playing BURNED SVCDs AND recognizes your brand of CD-R...
