    DVD to MPEG4

    I just got a Archos AV420 and am using Mac OS 10.3. I ripped a DVD with Handbrake with what I thought was all the right encoding. The file works great on my computer but won't work on the Archos it's super jumpy and blocky. Any suggestions?

    Thanks for your Help...

    Try using higher quality burnable media - such as Ritek (or Ridata) or Verbatim...

      Sorry if I wasn't clear. I am ripping right off a commercial DVD onto my Mac G5 running OS 10.3 I am ripping it to a .AVI file with HandBrake using the settings
      AVI/MPEG4/MP3
      XVID
      2-pass

      I want to drop the finished file onto my Archos AV420 which only plays MPEG-4 video files. The file the handbrake is ripping is unwatchable (there is video but really jumpy and the audio is high pitch crackling)

        Now that you've clarified what you are doing, I'm afraid I have nothing to offer you.

        You may be hardpressed to get a meaningful response at these forums, as the vast majority of posters are PC users.

        But, you never know ;>}
