    copy DVD without decryption

    hi
I was about to get into the procedure of ripping DVD.
but first I try to see what happens if I just copy the VOB and try to play.
after I copy VOB file to my HD, I right click, "open with" WIN media player, and it play it perfect on full screen with quality even better than the usual.
I can even split the file to smaller file and I can play each by itself.
or play it while on the original DVD with media player.
how is it possible? on A DVD that I tried it before it didn't work.
is it now A special DVD that not encrypt? it's working all 4 DVD's all from same online store. made in taiwan. but all look like any other DVD. the way it's devided to VOB IFO BUP files and my DVD player turned on when inserted and the print quality looks original.
    ?
just when I edit this copies I have problems.
when I cut segment and make it new file on windows movie maker. it saves the file. media player play it but I dont see nothing even it's just part from the copy that worked.
when I play this segment inside movie maker. it's playd good but after this the program freeze. and other problems on other editing programs like premiere. only when editing it.
    any help?

    thank you?

Some DVD discs do not come encrypted and hence you can simply copy the vob files onto your harddrive and play them from there. However, most other DVDs are encrypted and when you manually copy the vob files into your harddrive, they remain scrambled and hence are unplayable.

Typically, pirated DVDs made in Asia and porn DVDs are not encrypted...
