Best DVD's for Burning

Hi all

I've been using Infiniti DVD+R to back up my dvd's via dvd shrink but have had some problems with CRC errors.

I wonder if anyone could recommend the best brand dvd and whether +r/rw or -r/rw are better.

Also when theytalk about the dye types used in the discs what does this mean and what dye type give the best perfomance to a disc for playback on a stand alone dvd player
