    Messed Up Discs

I recently have noticed that all the discs that I have backed up are completly useless. I barely noticed this now because I didnt bother to try to play the DVDs until now. Then I tried burning other DVDs and they came out messed up also. Im not sure whats going on. I have a Pioneer DVR-108 with hacked firmware and it always worked before. I tried burning the entire movie and also reauthoring and it isnt working. HELP

Did it work AFTER you installed the firmware hack?

What is the hack supposed to provide, higher burning speeds or something else?

What speed are you burning at?

Well I think I figured it out. I went back to burning at 8x and its fine now. It just makes me mad that I burned around 20 dvds at 16 with the exact same media exact some program and it worked perfectly. Now all of a sudden it only works at 8x. By the way cynthia I bought the lite on SOHC-5232K reader. You told me earlier that Lite On readers are not locked. So does that mean that I do not need to flash it? Or do i still need to flash it?

What reading speeds are you getting with an CSS encrypted disc if you use DVDDecrypter?

I actually havent recieved the reader yet. But i will tmrw. Also i wanted to ask you, when you use dvddecrypter that gives you the files that are already encoded correct? So shouldnt dvdshrink just grab those files and burn them to the disc? I dont understand why it starts to encode again.

They are perhaps to big to fit on a 4.7Gb disc...

DVDDecrypter only moves them to your hard disk.

I'll just stick with dvd shrink then. When i get the reader i will just be able to put in the dvd and a blank disc and let it run. alot easier

i got my liteon reader today. I dont have any css locked movies yet but i should be able to test it soon. Also, my region killer said that the drive is not region free, should i go ahead and flash it with hacked firmware? And if so, Which one do i use?

If you are planning to ripp movies from a different region - do it. If not - no.

The LiteOn don't have any readspeedslocks with original firmware.
