    Convert Audio

    Ok, I need help again...

I've been using Cool Edit Pro to fix the audio for my mpeg2 files.
Along with TMPGEnc to Multiplex and Demultiplex the mpeg2 files.
But when I try to use TMPGEnc DVD Author it says the auido is not
    a supported DVD source.

I've been saving the audio into mp3 format... It was the only one I could find that I could multiplex back into the mepg2 file.

My question how do I get an mp3 or wave converted into an AC3 File?

Or an audio that is compressed such as an mp3 or AC3 that TMPGEnc DVD Author will recognize.

    Thanks

TMPGEnc DVD Author will accept a .WAV audio file for input, so if you already have sucxh a file (as you've indicated), there should be no need to convert it...

Yes, but a wave takes up alot more space than say an mp3 or an ac3 file. Which gives me more room for video files or better quality of the video files I encode to mpeg2.

But I guess I may have to go ahead and use a wav file if I can't find anything else to encode it too.

Just curious, what necessitates you "using Cool Edit Pro to fix the audio for my mpeg2 files."?

I use Cool Edit Pro to take out the hiss and in some cases a loud pitch sound. And to amplify the audio. In some instances the audio isn't very loud and without editing it the hiss is to bad when you turn up the volume on the tv without editing it.

          Make any sense?

And thanks for the help setarip. I greatly appreciate it.

Have you tried using TMPGEnc to first convert the .MP3 audio file to .MP2 (MPEG1Layer2) - and THEN multiplexing - or simply loading both your videostream (.M2V) and the .MP2 audiostream DIRECTLY into TMPGEnc DVD Author? (Or, similarly, converting a .WAV audio file into .MP2)

No, I have not tried that. I was unaware that TMPGEnc could convert just the audio from mp3 to an mp2 file.

              I'll give that a try.

              Thanks
