    codecs?

ok. i had my pc upgraded and my video files are giving me
trouble. they dont play perfect like before, audio is beter on some.
and people say codec packs are trouble even though they worked
    great for me before.

WHAT CODECS CAN I GET TO PLAY just about any file and also
for tmpgenc plus and dvd author so they dont freeze.

the last file i tried to put in tmpgenc wont take the audio just the video. i see why cause it is poor when wmp plays it. after i installed ace mega codec pack nothing works now and they all say "encountered an error and needs to close".

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE, AGAIN, PROVIDE A CODEC LIST THAT I CAN ENCODE/DECODE WITH FOR XP HOME SP2.

    ty in advance

i see that the xp sp2 upgrade is causing alot of people problems
playing divx videos and encoding them. this must be the problem with my system. can anyone shed some light on what to do for the divx sp2 codec(the link). the home page at divx doesn't help.

anything on the operating system that has to be configured for playing and encoding video files?

Do yourself a favor and get rid of the codec pack idea. Install a codec only when and if it's needed. I've used SP2 since it came out and haven't had any problems so far.

D/l "Avicodec" in the tools section here www.videohelp.com
Open Avicodec and load your video in it and it will tell you what codec you need and if the codec is installed on your computer. I use xvid (Koepi's build) and divx-lite (only decodes) for mpeg4. I use Windvd for dvd videos. Keep us informed of your success.

Make sure you also upgrade your Video Card Drivers.
              Cheers!
