Have you the latest drivers for your graphics and DirectX?

"this is happening with all types of formats"

        Including ACTUAL DVDs?

            Windvd 6 Border

I am encountering the same problem. I have the newest drivers installed and directx version 9.0c installed. Any suggestions?

To reiterate Setarip, on original DVDs?

Yes on original dvds. You do not even need to be playing a dvd. When you load the program if you look at the main window you can see the border. On my computer it looks light blue.
