    Cyclic Redundancy Error

    Hi,

I recently put several short movies clips and other files onto 3 DVD+R before doing a reformat on my computer.

Now that I have completed the re-format I am trying to put the clips and files back onto my computer. One of the DVD+R is giving all sorts of CRC errors when I try to move the stuff back. Many of the files are showing as being 0kb. You I right click and get the disk properties it says the DVD+R only has 500mb on it. But when I burnt it it had 4gb, if you look at it with differnt disk utilities or with Roxio it still has 4gb on it.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get past this and get the files back?

    Hi crazigee

A CRC error usually means that your disk is dirty or damaged (scratches, dirt, fingerprints or even a bad burn)

First try and give it a clean and re-try

Yeah I have already tried cleaning the disk. And the disk doesn't have a scratch on it.

Also as I said in my ealier post the files are showing up as being 0kb instead of their true size. And also the right clicking to show disc properties says that the disk is 500mb it is really 4gb.

      Thanks for the suggestion!

      Sincerely,
      GW

        Did you install an ASPI?

              Hi again,

I tried installing the APSI. No luck with that.

              Any other suggestions?

              Thanks again,
              GW

"Many of the files are showing as being 0kb."

Sounds like the DVD's directory (and, possibly, some files) has been corrupted...
