TMPGEnc Guide

Are there guides for TMPGEnc out there? I'm most interested in its deinterlace features and would like to find out if it performs any better than Smart Deinterlacer. Thanks.

Anyone else can tell me how good the deinterlace options in TMPGEnc is compared to Smart Deinterlacer (which really isn't that very good, but better than nothing)? I saw a lot of variations, like even-odd field, etc. This is kind of confusing and it would be good to know how it works in the big picture.

TMPGEnc slow??

Hi,

I'm using TMPGEnc to convert AVI to MPEG-1. However, the process is very slow (3 hrs. for 190 Mb). Is this the way it is or does it have to do with my CPU speed?

I only use TMPGEnc to do an Inverse Telecine anyway. nandub is still my main processing tool.

As a general rule, your CPU speed will determine how fast the processing job can be done. The few times I've used TMPGEnc to make VCD-compliant files, I found it slow compared to DivX encoding. I think I had too many filters enabled in TMPGEnc.
