slow burn speed to 4X, pls HELP

Hi Everyone, New to this... I bought 50 pack of HP DVD+R but it is up to 8X. On my samsung DVD player (OLDER) These will not play. So I called Samsung and the lady said she just got a call from a guy with the same problem. She said I need to "Slow down the burn speed to 4X" when I record on the blank HP's. Then it will play just fine. The DVD's play fine on all my other players but not my living room one (Samsung) which is the most important. She said there is no update for that samsung model so this is the only way it will work.
Using DVD shrink....can anyone tell me how to reduce the burn speed to 4X so we can watch these??? Please? Thanks.

go to my computer right click on your DVD drive. go to propties. then click on the recording tab. factory settings are usually fastest. change that to 4 x. that should make it burn at 4 x speed. dont forget to click apply..
