    Unable to change quality

So here's the story: If I install Servicepack 2 on my Windows 2000, I become unable to change quality settings in the Mediaplayer. In the "Filters in use" section, the codec is just missing!
Does anyone know what to do? Please don't say stuff like use another player or uninstall Servicepack 2.

Are you able to play the file anyway? And which codec are you referring to?

Enchanter> Yes, the file plays normally. Concerning the codec, I've tried all DivX codecs....they won't show up in the "Filters in use" section.

That's funny. I've never encountered that with WMP6.4. You wouldn't happen to be using WMP7 (which of course does not give you the option of changing the filter settings), would you?

Using another player is probably a viaable option, one you shouldn't just discount. Try using PowerDivX. It has a built-in option for changing both DivX3 and DivX4 filter settings.
