tony1145, welcome to the forums! What is the brand and model # of your DVD player?

(Please refrain from using all CAPS please.)

Your DVD player cannot play +R/RW disc's.

          Here are the specs:
          Silver.

          Dolby digital sound.

          DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, WMA, JPEG, and MP3 playback compatible.

          Analogue 2 channel audio output.

          Supports region 2 coding.

          PAL progressive scan.

          DTS compatible.

          Icon on screen display.

          Variable zoom.

          Enhanced picture mode.

          Component video output.

          1 SCART socket.

Remote control (2 x AAA batteries supplied).

          Size (H)5.9, (W)43, (D)20.6cm.

          Weight 2kg.

You say you have tried/used -R disc. I would try again and use some known reputable brand disc such as Ritek Ridata or Verbatim.
