One of the many things that people were uneasy about when using 321 products was that the SW would "check-in" at the home website when it was used. May not be the dvd but the SW sure did, but smack him anyway.Comment

Despite all of the friendly (?) ribbing that's been posted in response to your question, if I remember correctly, one of the protection programs for DATA DVDs (not Video DVDs) does provide such capability. Logically, you'd have to be on the 'net for it to accomplish this...Comment

And even if you were paranoid that a DVD did have the capability to detect that it is being copied, if you have a "Firewall" (either hardware or software), it should be configured (if set up correctly) to stop or alert you of an attempted connection to a particular websiteComment
