    playing videos on widescreen

i am trying to play videos (mpeg, mpeg2, xvid) on a widescreen monitor

    - without any codecs: video uses fullscreen but everthing is out of sync (like you would expect)
    - with codec (AC mega codecs pack - player install): any of those vids use only a small part of the screen (like it was a "normal"screen) so I loose some centimters/inches on every side: top/bottom/left/right..

does somebody how to fix this? I cant find any right setting on any codecs

Playback capability is more dependent upon the PLAYER you're using, not the codecs.

      thanks,
but its the same with every player i tried

ok, i can change the ratio with bsplayer but still, it doesnt do it right

the right image would be the video fully stretched instead of losing the borders

Try a software DVD player such as WinDVD or PowerDVD...
