hey guys, need some help here plz!

ok to kick things off, i know im new here and i realise that i might get flamed or something but seriously, i am in *dire* straits here, i really really really need some help.


Today i bought an Excel TV capture box that lets me plug in my video source and then into a usb port on the computer. Ok so when i've tried to view any sought of video input, the video comes up extremely pixelated and terrible quality!
i really need to know if im doing something wrong here, the programs im using are PowerVCR and PCCAM. If anyone *anyone* has anything they can tell me to make it come out crystal clear you would be saving my life!!

What is the format in which you are capturing in (format=.avi or .mpeg) and what are the settings set at ?

recording at MPEG-2

bitrate = 5000kbps

output size = 640x800

audio mode = steroe (mpeg layer 2)

this device is a usb 2.0 device. i may only have 1.0 - is that my problem?
