Best DVD player on the planet!

I just baught a Philips Divx\DVD player.
this thing plays everything. no matter what I put in it. it plays it. mpeg1 mpeg2 any rezolution or bit rate. Any mpeg4 AVI file, no need to auther DVDs anymore. I have 7 full lenth movies on one DVD and an entire season or startrek on one DVD. and the best part is the player is only about 60 bucks. I got mine at walmart for 58 bucks.

although it sounds awesome, i find it really hard to believe.

i'd like to see it play a 1080i mpeg2 file, or a hdtv xvid file with qpel and gmc

if it could play those, i'm sold!

It said that it has a maximum rezolution of 2000 something... I have an analog RCA TV so anything over 500 lines isnt seen for me. But I have a 2 gig AVI that is 1024X768 and it makes a DVD look like a vcd.

It can't (although it can play other XviD and DivX-compressed .AVIs) - but for around $60 (I have a Philips DVP642), it's capabilities and playback quality are really quite remarkable...
