newbee - i have some questions

Good day everyone,
I am new to this forum and new to this stuff.

Please be patient and mercifull when i am asking stupid questions. Or help me find the answers somewhere. Thank you!

What i would like some help with is :
1.what is the best kind/type of file: .avi, .xvid-dmt, smr-wmv, etc. to download from a p2p.
2.How do i burn an .avi file to a CD so that it will play on my CD/DVD player.
