need help- not sure where to post this

I am new to this so forgive me if i dont use the proper terms here but I downloaded some tv torrents for tv shows that i missed but wanted to see. How to get them on a dvd that I can watch off the computer? I can burn them to dvd and play them on the pc but do not know how to make them playable for regular non-pc dvd players. Any advice? This is how the file name appears. Thanks in advance for any help!!

You have to convert the avi to a compliant dvd mpeg 1/2 (Tmpgenc or similiar)
Author the mpeg with a program such as Tmpgenc dvd Author or similiar
If the result is larger than 4.37gb compress with dvdshrink
