    Slow jumpy playback

I used to have relatively fast computer an athlon 2600 system, but now since that got a bit broen im using an older but not what id call slow 800MHz P3 system.

It doesnt matter what kind of video i try to play or in what player or resolution i play it at, it skips, is ful of glitches, and the sound quickly moves out of sync. Ive tryed everything to get videos to play nothing makes a difference. Ive tryed different codecs, settings, players, and even a different OS.

I cant see any problem with my hardware specification i used to play dvds on a pentium 2 266 system. now i can barly get to the menu without hitting the damn thing out of frustration.

My system is actualy a dell optiplex GX110 with 512 mb ram at the moment. Can anyone offer any help or info... Please?..

Have u been using the same drive all this time? If u have maybe it's time for a new one If u have used different drives then maybe it the movie/video that is defective.
