    DIVX to WM8

    Hola.....

    On this moment, i fell like this

    I can't convert a DIVX to a WM8 file(Windows Media 8).
    The program says me that the file needs to be a uncompressed AVI.

    So, how can i conver a DIVX to a pure AVI file?

    BTW, iv got a problem, with Virtual DUB i can convert it, couse it just show me the sound, the video keeps all Black (no video)

    So.... can someone help me

    Muchas gracias (Thx)

    I have no problem converting DivX v.3.11alpha-compressed .AVI files with Constant Bit Rate MP3 audio to WMV8.

    From what you described, it sounds like you've got a problematic video. Have you successfully played the original video? If it plays properly, load it into VirtualDub and from the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information" and post EVERYTHING you see.

        There are two possible sources for your problem:

        1) The WMV8 encoder, which pre-dates the DivX 5.0 codec, may not be able to handle DivX v.5.0. You could use VirtualDub to convert the file to good old reliable DivX v.3.11alpha.

        2) the WMV8 encoder most probably cannot deal with the VBR (Variable Bit Rate)-MP3 audio stream that your file contains (The giveaway to this is the fact that there are almost twice as many audio frames as there are video frames). You could use NanDub to convert the audio to CBR (Constant Bit Rate)-MP3.

        Let us know of your success ;>}
