    Need a new DVD Player

    Hey guys what up,

Not sure if this message should be posted here, but here goes. I'm looking to buy a new high tech DVD player that will play pretty much everything. I have a slot-load RCA DRC310N DVD player that only really plays DVD+R. But I was looking for advice from you guys for a new one. You know, something I can rely on to play different media formats. Not just for DVD but for music media also.

Im sure you know what I mean, I'm looking for a really good one! Thanks for any advice.Peace

i will say, be wary of some toshiba models, they won't accept PAL dvd's and a lot of cd-rw's, and dvr+ they don't play. good machines that will do what you want are cheap.
i'd get one that supports divx too. or maybe a dvd recorder?

The Philips DVP642 is extremely versatile - and reasonably priced...

I live in the US, which I added to my profile recently, because I finally realized many of the people here are from England or Australia, which have different DVD players and media formats then the US does. I'll have to research some more about media conversion.

Anyway, to my question do you guys think that it will make a difference if I decide to buy the Philips DVP642 in the US, because it sounds excellent.Just not sure if it will work here. Thanks and please forgive the naivete. You know how it is with the

                          Best DVD player/burner

Hi Razor, I have tried many "HIGH END" DVD players and found that the Liteon LV5005 plays everything period... for $129.00 its the best bet. It evens burns from your DVR/Tivo etc.. No copy protections on DVD's and plays PAL,NTSC,Svd,Vcd,.DAT's and MP3's so check it out and good luck...Joe

They are not high priced but play anything I throw at them - I have 2 Apex players, a 1225 and a 2600. I also have a LiteoN LVW-5005 that does not play everything and also has developed a problem recording on a bunch of different media that it used to record to without a problem. get an Apex they can be bought cheap!
