    BBAVI2MPG 1.24 Build 18

    I have been using this program to split my final movie into CD size pieces for over a year now with no problems. I have just put Windows 2000 on and When I hit the start button to start encoding it works fine until it starts to separate the files. It may do one ok, but will hang on the other. Or it might only do 5% and then slow down. It still appears to be working but very slowly. Almost as if I have run out of memory. I'm running a 1.2gig Althon with 1 gig of ram.

    Are there any know issues with BBMPG under win2000. Or are there any other programs that I could use?

    Thanks

    You'd probably get a more meaningful response by emailing the author. I believe you'll discover that the prevalent tool, at this site, for such work is TMPGEnc...

      Yer I tried, but his webpage is not there anymore, and I can't seem to find a forum that talks about it.

        Whenever I have tried to use BBAVI2MPG the program does not accept audio, and I have a m2v file.

          "I tried, but his webpage is not there anymore"

          I'd suggest that you try using TMPGEnc as follows:

          File>>MPEGTools>>Merge&Cut

          Let us know of your success ;>}

              Yer....I tried it. I put in 2500 seconds or 43 mins for the first cut but no matter what I do it continues through the entir movie.

                Did you not click on the right bracket ("}") in order to set the end of your first cut?

                    My pleasure ;>}

                    But please explain, as your two statements appear to be contradictory:

                    "I tried it. I put in 2500 seconds or 43 mins for the first cut but no matter what I do it continues through the entir movie."

                    "I can split the files now and thats all that matters, thanks for all your help."

                      Sure.......Once I installed the latest version on TMPG it would split the files where I told it to. With the older version I was running (even though I told it, to only to make the first file 2640 seconds long) it just continued to make one huge 1.5meg file (86mins long)

                      2640 gives me a file 789meg in size, which after I convert to a bin file is 801meg. Which is the max I can get on a 700meg CD.

                        Now I understand. I missed the part about downloading a newer version of TMPGEnc.

                        Glad to hear that your problem is resolved...

                          Yer, I pleased too. Not only that, but I think TMPGnc is a little easier to use.
