    help me please

    i use tmpge to convert my files from avi to mpg but sometimes an err or message comes up and says file not supported , does anyone know why and how can i fix this?

    you need the audio/video codec that the file has been encoded with. make sure you have downloaded & installed "divx" and "xvid" codecs, as these are the most common video codecs in avi files. for audio, download "lame mp3", and for ac3 audio, download "ac3 filter"

    all the files can be downloaded (and are all free) at http://www.free-codecs.com

    if you still cannot convert certain files,

    download & install "virtualdubmod". open the file in question with virtualdubmod. under "file", click "file information". post all you see in the little window that pops up

      also in tmpgenc click option>environmental setting>Vfapi plug in>right click directshow multimedia file reader and raise the priority to 1 or untill it's at the top.
