    Nero Troubles

    I'm having big problems using Nero 6...Not only when trying to use DVD Shrink, I have to allow the MadDog [MAD DOG MD-16XDVD9A2] writer [with updated firmware and updated Nero6] fail on initial write and write from the images saved to my disk [every time], I also cannot copy cds on using Nero. I get an 'invalid track' error.

    Any suggestions?

      try using another burning software and see if it works. Burn-at-once is a decent freeware program. If you still get the error you're burner could be the culprit

          Could you post a log file from Nero ?

          To do so, go here: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero
          Look for a file named "NeroHistory.log"
          Open that file up and copy the last log in it.
          Then paste it here.

                  Update your version of Nero, the latest version out is 6.6.0.16. Download "Update-Package 1" - http://www.nero.com/us/nero-up.php

                  Enable your DMA - How ? do this -> Go to Control Panel> System> Hardware Tab> Device Manager> IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers> Right Click Primary IDE channel (and Secondary IDE channel after you finish with Primary)> Properties> Advanced Settings Tab> Transfer Mode or go here: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=101616

                  Do the above from both "Primary & Secondary IDE channels".

                  I (We) and you need to look at whats in both "Transfer Mode" and "Current Transfer Mode". Screen shot below is what I'm talking about.


                  If it is in "PIO" mode. Click the "Driver" tab, and uninstall the driver. Then reboot. Upon rebooting windows will automatically reinstall the driver and it should go back to "DMA" mode.



                  (Your screen may or may not look the same as my screen shots)
