    Just noise when making DivX/AC3

    Hi
    I got a really big problem: When making a divX with AC3 Sound I just get a horroble noise on all outputs. When playing the AC3 file on it´s own everything works perfekt (5.1 Switching, good sound etc.) But a the moment of muxing evrything is noised up again.
    I got this prob. either using easydivx or virtualdub ac3 - with VDUB I spent a whole evening on trying Interleave Settings

    Any Idea?

    UncasMS had posted these settings a while ago - and they work quite well with VirtualDub-AC3:

    For AC3 192Kbits, Preload and Interleave 80ms
    For AC3 384Kbits, Preload and Interleave 160ms
    For AC3 448Kbits, Preload and Interleave 128ms

    Make certain that the .AVI you're loading into VDub doesn't have an audio track. If it does, set to "No audio" before loading the .AVI, then select ".AC3 audio" to load your audio file.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

      Thanks for answering, but I already did this.
      My avi is without any sound and I tried out every interleave tip I could find in this forum and on all the articles/guides I read.

      Could it be that there are different specifications for spdif output (or is it just my last hope that wants my soundcard to be wrong - I got a terratec 521digital)

      Or mabey some XP Bug?

        Does the multiplexed file play properly WITHOUT spdif output selected?

          It does! Just tried it and it plays just fine when I played it on another PC without digital output but with filters installed.
          So what does this tell me?
          Shal I try another Soundcard with a different SPDIF chip?
          Or should I buy more DVD´s instead of copying...

            From my perpsective, it's gratifying to know that the file is okay. I hope I've been of some assistance in that regard ;>}

            Perhaps some others can provide enlightenment regarding the spdif problem...
