    Capture Direct TV

I have direct TV and was wondering if I would be able to run a lead from the dish directly to a video capture card and utilize software to capture movies to my hard drive.

I don't know if its possible to run the feed directly to the PC without running it through a converter box first, but I have DirecTV plugged into my ATI All-In-Wonder (after going through a converter box) so I can watch it on my PC. It also gives me the option of recording the movies to my hard drive (which I have done), but if you want any kind of image quality, make sure you're running some flavor of NT (I use Win2k), as WIN9X has a file size limitation. It'll cost you an extra 5 bucks a month to "mirror" (read "rip off") the programming, but surfing the web while watching TV is worth it.
