I have Ad-Aware and also had Spyware Doctor but it recently had me update and now that I have it no longer lets you scan and fix problems without purchase which really sucks. It's a really great program for those who can afford it.

This thread belongs somewhere more conspicous,
make it 4 for spybot!
Things are getting very hairy out there, I have one computer that does
the books for a midsized company, about 6 months ago, it wouldn't even
boot into a windows gui, putting it on a different monitor got me in.
Updated nortons in safe mode showed trojan downloader, (from a web site),
the durn thing had been updating itself for 2 weeks. 4 hours later after
running spybot, nortons and trojanhunter in regular and safe mode & regedit, I thought I was finished, then the gambling/porn popups came back.
I had forgotten to disconnect the dsl/lan. Reran everything and finally fixed.
Last month the same guy said yes, not no to an activex control and here we go again. This time when I disconnected the ethernet cable or tried to go into safe mode, no go! Continual hour glasses! Booted to xp cd and deleted system partition so they could print payroll checks.Last edited by Chewy; 5 Nov 2005, 01:20 AM.Comment
