Can playing a Cheap Quality DVD, ruin my player

Can playing a cheap quality DVD ruin the DVD player in some way.....laser alignment, balancers etc ???

I am talking about really cheap chinese/malaysian DVD's appx $2 here.

I spose if it broke and pieces started to fly about in there, yes. Otherwise, it's just a laser trying its hardest to read changes in phase.

the only way i could see it doing damage is if the disc is already cracked, and just needs a bit of pressure on it to break. other than that, playing very dirty discs could do some undesireable stuff.

Not that I would want to.........but I am also curious to discover its quality and how can they sell it soooo cheap!!!!

you haven't used them before? don't use cheap media. you will have wasted discs and money, not to mention the headaches. sony, verbatim are examples of superior media.
