I read that you are not supposed to use labels (in The Golden Rules of Burning) but what about CD Stomper labels? They seem to have some "stay on" guarantee thing, so should have no prob. I used them fine before, just wanna get the experts' expertise before putting them on my final discs.

A labelled drive can cause read errors/ laser skipping in the drive and put extra load on the shaft causing damage to the internal motors and mechanics etc over a period of time!!!!!.
So you are the best judge now, if you want to use labels or use a soft tipped permanent marker (as I do) for your discs.Comment

What's wrong with a Sharpie? It's just as good an identifier and never has a problem.

I don't use labels, when I print covers for labels I insert them in the front of slim cd jewel cases that I use for all my backups. Not registered Go here and click register to join the Digital Digest Forums

I do not have a CD Printer. I just think that Sharpies look unprofessional. I have found that if you put the labels on slowly that there is no problem with them, but again, just because there have not been any problems don't mean that there won't be.CYA Later:

Personaly I DO use labels. I use a couple different labels I dont think that really matters much but the only thing I would strongly suggest is to make sure you purchase a kit with the label press. This makes things alot easier to be absolutly sure the label is centered, which is an absolute must to keep up the integrity of your DVD's, and dont forget to give it a few good rubs too.... I would also suggest this site here http://www.cdcovers.cc for your DVD covers.Chizzmo
