    Divx to DVD

    Is it possible to burn a DVD from a DIVX download? If so does it take specific software?

            To burn to VCD you will need to convert your AVI to MPEG 1. For further explanations about certain terms and other methods of conversions, tools and programs check out :

            Video forums, video software downloads, guides, blu-ray players and media.

            You can burn your VCD onto any CDR that you wish provided that your Stand-Alone DVD Player or VCD Player will play those brands of discs, some players wont play all brands of disc so becare full when deciding on your brand. Also you may wish to burn to CDRW the first few VCD's you convert just incase you make a mistake and saves throwing money in the bin. BUT check that your player will also play CDRW's as with CD brands some players WONT play re-writable CD's.

              DVD-Players should play MPEG-1 and MPEG-2, but more important ist which media the player supports (CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, RVD-ROM...). Then you can decide if you burn the movie to DVD or CD. Some of this Formats may be supportet:

              VCD = MPEG-1
              SVCD = MPEG-2
              MiniDVD = MPEG-2 in DVD-Format on a CD-R
              DVD-R = MPEG-2 just like a real DVD

              For MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 you need TMPEGEnc. For The MiniDVD or DVD-R you also need a DVD-Authoring-Software like Quick DVD Builder.
              don't trust in guides
