Complete n00b here so any help is greatly appreciated.

I need info if there is DivX stand alone duplicator, similar to DVD stand alone duplicators.
I need to make multiple copies from single "Master" DivX.

You mean just copying the CD? Nero can do that, as well as Roxio or other CD copying programs, if that is what you mean. I am not familiar with DivX discs... are they stored on a CD-R?

My problem is - this Divx files are really big, around 1Gb. so they do not fit on CD but only on DVD. I need to make multiple copies of DVD - but it's not DVD movie file - and when I tried on my friend's DVD Duplicator - I got message "No Signal"

so you have a 1GB divx file on a data dvd and you wish to copy it? do you have nero?

Yes. I do have Nero, but because I need multiple copies of 1 Divx DVD I want to use Stand Alone Duplicator. I do not know if there are stand alones which use Nero and can make multiple copies. When I mean stand alone - it's something like this: http://us.st11.yimg.com/store1.yimg....r_1871_9619367

i see what you mean. i have never used one of those, so i can't help you there. i just use nero on a PC and make multiple copies that way. nice machine though. sorry i can't help

Yes, I have Plextor 716A - but it will take lot of time to make 12-15 copies one at a time. So I am looking for some sort of DVD duplicatior (stand alone tower) to make multiple copies from 1 Divx "master" in one swipe.

i never used one of those standalones before, but shouldn't they be able to copy a dvd data disc as well as a dvd video disc? you don't have it yet?

Why do you need to make copies at once? The other option, is to use a program like Nero or TMPGEnc DVD Author to turn that DivX file into a video DVD, and then clone it with your machine.

That is my thought as well. I don't have duplicator: I am trying to find out if I can copy data DVD in this towers before I buy one. They cost around $1000 so need to know for sure if it's possible before I spend money

@drf - that is his business - there has been no hint of any illegal copying in this thread - for all we know the material may be generated by mikky from his own home videos.

i agree. i was under the impression you already has this unit. i'd definetly inquire to the place of purchase. for that price i can't believe it couldn't back-up a data dvd.
