Subtitle editing (with .idx & .sub)

Hi,

I'm trying to find out what kind of format my subtitles are.

I have a .sub and a .idx file. The .idx contains the time frames + references to the sub file.
My question is how can I view/edit the .sub file?
And what subtitle format is this anyway? (It's not subrip, microDVD or SAMI).

Any idea?


PS: I've seen a lot of this kind of subtitles altough I can't find any information on them. Isn't that strange?

I think that the subtitles you've got are in the Vobsub format. When I create subtitles using Gordian Knot and the Vobsub plugin, ifo, idx and sub files are created.
In what way do you want to edit them?
