    PSP Video is MPEG4?

    Hey peoples,

Quick question. Are PSP videos actually MPEG4? Ive got the program to convert, PSP Video 9 but what more is this conversion as oppossed to MPEG4? I have not yet successfully downloaded any movies to the PSP so another question is how much space must the Memory Stick Duo pro card be able to handle. Ive purchased a 512MB card and hope that this will have enough space for a movie.

    Thanx

I did a movie about 1 and half hours long last weekend. It used 77mb of space although it was a little grainy lookn'.Redone it for the best picture and used 184mb of space.Redone it again to go back to the small file, got to save room for picture's and songs, home movie clips etc...

It isn't exactly spec standard mp4 though. If you create a spec compliant mp4 then you have to run an atom changer util to change a few atoms. PSP Video 9 I would imagine has something like that built in.

Pretty sure that it supports MPEG-4 Part 2 as well as AVC.

Thanx for everyones quick replies. W/O the Video9 app. PSP will not see the movies and the movies take up a small amount of memory. All that I needed to know.

          Thanx again to all

Nero Recode will do PSP MP4's. All you need is the ability to save to a Memory Stick.

Please explain that one to me. Nero as far as I know uses their own MPEG 4 codec. If what you say is true it would open another option. My standalone DivX and MPEG4 players will not play Nero digital CDs or DVDs. Not that PSP movies have anything to do with CD or DVD Nero digital.

Ok ......................you da man. One problem that I had with my conversion was the size of the file. In Video 9 I wasnt sure which audio rate/size corresponded to the video file size. Is there a final output option in Nero? I would like to set a file size, say 100MB and have Nero adjust for that.

Sorry, I can't help any further. I don't have Nero Recode or even a PSP. Have you got the Ultra Edition of the Nero Suite of software?

LOL OK sorry.......I did find out thru ("not being lazy" ) how to get everything done with video 9. I forget that my Nero 6.6 is OEM and not retail which may be why i dont have that drop down option. My son now has Into the Blue and a few episodes of Family Guy on his PSP as well as alot of music. Although Nero is an absolutely amazing program...............so is Video 9. Reckon Ill have to make a donation and support the freeware. Thanx to all.

Upload and encode your avi's, mov's and and wmv's to PSP/iPod compatable MP4

http://audiopromotionpro.com allows you to upload upto avi's, mov's and wmv's and converts them to PSP/iPod compatable MP4's. Your limited to a 20Mb upload so you can't convert long movies.

If you use the promo code "video" you can get a 150mb account for free.
