    Firewire - Digital Camcorder help

I'm asking this here as i can't see any other forum to post in.

Furthermore - you guys n gals seem to be able to solve everything (that's honest and no kiss assing there)

I bought a digital camcorder and bought a firewire cable.

However I can't get it to connect to my computer

when i try - the device manager comes up with an error under "61883" device class.

    Can anyone help

can you give us some more details?

    - camcorder is what?
    - OS / SP?
    - exact error message?

does is sound like: 61883.sys not present?

there is no error as it can't connect but the device manager says this device cannot start and has placed a yellow exclamation sign next to it.

            Hi summieone,

IMHO, I don't think anything to do with your Samsung VP D93 camcorder. It could be that the firewire card driver gets corrupted or the driver has been installed. Since you haven't mentioned clearly what device under the Device Manager the yellow exclamation sign is next to. So please check if the yellow exclamation is still there with or without the camcorder is connected to

            Regards

I too have a DVD Camcorder and I had something like this happen to me too. I had to remove Easy Cd Creator from my hard drive to be able to hook my camcorder up to my comp and use it. I was always getting an error message every time I tried to access it before I removed it.

              Cheers

Please go the link provided by UncasMS in post #2. This enumeration problem is known to occur with the following Panasonic DV cameras series, but may not be limited to that. Please make sure your PC is fully updated

                  Regards

no - unfortunately the pack didn't work - its was made for SP1 and that problem was fixed in SP2 which I have.

                      any other ideas?
