    problem with subtitle

    hi
    i have one avi movie on 2 files - each file -700 mb
    i have the subtitle of this movie
    i want to put the subtitle on the avi files and than to burn it to vcd that i can watch on my dvd player
    i read some guide about this and i try to do what thay tell in the guide but when i finsih it the 1st file he got 1.1gb- so if i want to burn the movie i need 4 cd insted of 2!!!
    i dont undrstand why 50kb subtitle file make the file so big!!!

    i hope somone can help me with this that i can burn my avi files with subtitle only on 2 cd!!!

    You need to make sure that the final file is re-compressed at the appropriate bitrate so that the size does not exceed that of the original.

        It would be beneficial if you can put up the methods with which you created the 'subtitled' file.

          i didnt creat the sutitle file

          i download it from the web - and the movie to
          and i try to add the subttile to the avi file - and the file got bigger form 700 mb to 1.3 gb!!

              i load the avi with virualdub

              in the audio -full processind mode -go to converson and chang the sampling rate to 44100
              and go to file --save as avi
              open the new avi
              go to video --filter -- add sutitler and choose the ssa file
              go to file and start fram server
              open the tmpgenc load the file form the fram server and hit start!

              now what did i do worng?

                Why don't you set Vdub to do the video compression instead? Did TMPGEnc start creating a .mpg file? If so, it is no wonder you got a blown-up file.

                You simply need to make sure that the bitrate used for the compressor is such that it will not exceed the target filesize. A calculator will come in handy for this. As to which codec and how to do it, that's to come, if you haven't already known.
