XP missing file for 3.11!!

I just tried to install the 3.11 codec on XP to discover i was missing an inf file!? I've never seen this file type, nor do i have any idea what i can do. I read the other threads that said XP had no problems....Help me please, i need 3.11!

thanks for the idea, but thats where i originally got the file from and it didn't work. Is there something I'm missing? perhaps a patch or something?

sorry for the delay
it just says "missing an inf file" thats it. Not even a .inf file or a specific file. It's the most generic alert message ive ever seen. I just want to play mario 64, is that too much to ask?

Have you tried using a codec pack? Maybe you won't get an error that way.

I honestly don't know what i did differently, but now its working flawlessly. Disregard that bit about Mario 64, wrong forum. Thanks to everyone, especially Enchanter for the help. I figure this thread is finished, unless anyone is a master of voodoo 4 XP drivers with respect to N64 emulators......
