How do i set my gdivx as a default?

To ne one and everyone,
I'm not sure if im in the right post but can someone tell me how i can set my gdivx as default instead of my window media player?
It takes forever for WMp to load and I just love gdivx.

You can try setting it in Windows Explorer or My Computer. Go to Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types. There you can find various registered files. Find the types AVI (and/or MPG, if you wish) and play around with the settings. It should be clear enough on what to do to set gdivx as the default player.

Otherwise, if you use Win2K/XP (Not sure about ME), you can simply right-click on an AVI file, go to Open With and choose gdivx program and set Windows to 'always use this program to open these files.'

Ok, I went to my computer and tried explorer but i cant seem to find the folder "Tools", my OS is win98, I dont know if its different or not for another OS. Thanks for any help u can give me.

In Win98, you'll find "Tools" by doubleclicking on "My Computer" to open a window - and then clicking on the "Edit" dropdown menu...
