help with virtual dub

hello,

it's the first time i try to ripp a dvd and i have a big problem. i work with gordian knot (with virtual dub). when i try to encoding an error says : "operation no valid in the module divx.dll at 0187:04217ffl" ; and virtual dub program failure : "crash reason : access violation".

Which version of divx are you using 4 or 5 ?, which guide did you follow ?

i work with video codec divx v4.12 and gordian knot (which use virtual dub) that i find in a french site

Do you have a properly installed version of divx4.12 ?, not one of those hacks that allow you to have both dix4 and 5 installed. If you are not sure, please get the divx4.12 installer form www.doom9.org.
