should I cut after demux or remux.... woes....???

I found the best way to convert DVB-mpeg2-recordings into divx. I was following the guide from doom9.org ( http://www.doom9.org/DigiTV/dvb2divx.htm ) however why use GK as it says? GK is a longer way of getting the job done (divx video file). However I still need to demux my DVB-mpeg2-recording since it no doubt contains transmission GOP/PTS errors.

The guide does not mention about muxing up the video and audio files together again. I suggest mux the video and audio back together again and put it through AutoGK or Dr. DivX. Sorted! No messing about with GK settings, etc.

Problem is, the guide mentions to cut (out adverts) after demux. Does it make any difference if I cut after demux, or after remux?

My gut feel is to do it after the remux cos then your audio is cut properly, too.

anyway, since ProjectX fixes any errors on the demux.. that means the video and audio separate files are error free. so cutting then or after remux shouldn't make any difference... hopefully..

and why is digital-digest.com so.... unpopular compared to doom9.org & videohelp.com forums???

I wouldn't call this site unpopular. We have many members who are members of other forums (I am also a doom9 member for example).
