dvd won't play in my pc - why

i just rented the dvd movie north country and when i put it in my pc to play it , it says a unsupported fomat disc is in dirive d: what can i do to play the movie - thanks

Does it play in a regular DVD player?

yes it plays fine in my dvd player i have hooked to my tv. and i do have dvd software on my pc i watch movies all the time on it

Take it back and exchange it for a different one.

Mine worked fine for me.

could it be a format that i need to change in my pc because the movie is a new one or what

If it doesnt play in windows media player or powerDVD I would do like Jmet said and take it back to the store.

If you can watch other DVD's fine in your PC. Take it back and exchange it.

and got another one of the same movie and it won't play either. any more ideas please. thanks

what are you trying to play it in on the computer?
hardware/drive and software/player?
