hi8 to digital

I bought my son a hi8 camcorder & want to introduce him to digital -firstly I want to convert the hi8 to digital as he has shot a load of footage & let him have a go at digital editing - I bought an entry level Pinnacle but have had nothing but problems with it & can get no feedback whatsover from Pinnacle support despite numerous attenpts.I want to do this as economically as poss. as I'll be buying a digital camera for him next year - can anyone help please?

Use a TV Tuner Card to import ur analog video from tape to PC.This converts the analog video to digital.U can use Ulead Video Studio for both capturing and editing.

Yeah that's a good idea, as tuner cards are relatively cheap and provide the added benefit of OTA TV on the computer screen.
