Calling all Adobe Premier Experts

I recently went to NZ on my hols and went to my cousins wedding.
I took video in the night but when I viewed the video I had taken it looked very dark.
I have adobe premier and a video capture card!
Does anyone know how to lighten the picture in adobe premier pro.
I have had a go but not getting anywhere!
